aQuellé has been awarded the Energy Storage Project of the Year at ENLIT Africa 2025.
ENLIT Africa brings together key industry leaders to tackle Africa's energy and water challenges. aQuellé’s solar project, including a substantial battery installation of 11.6MWh, was nominated by Standard Bank, the platinum sponsors of the event. Kuben Govender from Standard Bank (pictured with Ruth Combrink and Nico Bosman) also received the Renewable Energy Award in honour of the bank’s values and being a game changer in the sector.
aQuellé’s solar installation covers 28 000m² and generates up to 6.2MWh, which is enough electricity to power approximately 1 100 average households in South Africa. At our newest bottling facility, the solar installation saves 131 tons of CO2 emissions per month, equivalent to planting 3 803 trees.
The award is a testament to God’s continued blessing and the hard work and dedication of an incredible team who have made the project possible. We are honoured at this recognition of our work and remain committed to serving our communities with integrity.
