Musa Makhunga is the Founder and Managing Director of HR Matters (HRM) Holdings (Pty) Ltd, a diversified investment group headquartered in Durban. With over two decades of experience in human resources and business leadership, Musa has built a reputation as a principled, strategic, and values-driven entrepreneur.
His professional background spans multiple sectors, including mining, manufacturing, retail, and banking, where he held senior human resources roles. This cross-industry exposure equipped him with a deep understanding of organisational dynamics, leadership development, talent strategy, and operational excellence. It was this foundation that led to the establishment of HR Matters (Pty) Ltd in 2002, the business that became the cornerstone of HRM Holdings.
While Musa’s entrepreneurial ambitions were long nurtured, they were initially balanced alongside demanding corporate responsibilities.
